Selectively target the licorice
In order to remove all the jelly from Candy Crush Saga level 553, you'll need to destroy every licorice X in this level. Unfortunately, there are three separate rows of them blocking the flow of candy into the bottom areas of the board. Eventually, you'll want to work from the bottom, but in the beginning, look for a few matches to make in the middle and top rows. Clearing these areas will allow you to use the conveyor belts to your advantage and create special candies for later use.

Keep an eye out for special candy combos
To destroy the jelly, you must first destroy the licorice. Horizontal striped candies are best for this task, if you can maneuver one into the right row. Bombs are virtually useless; vertical striped candies are much more useful, as they can get rid of licorice and mystery candies on the bottom. Before every move, look for chances to make color bombs in the top rows. If one comes along, you don't want to miss it. Combine any color bombs with a striped candy as pictured to unleash maximum carnage on Candy Crush Saga level 553.

Target the corner jellies
By far the most difficult jellies to get rid of will be the ones tucked away in crannies to the far left and right. These are very tough to match normally. At this point, once the majority of the licorice has been cleared, you can start making wrapped bombs if you haven't already to match with striped candies. These combos will wipe out the isolated nooks from afar. Making a wrapped candy is no easy feat, but it's well worth the effort if you want to take care of those more difficult jellies. Combine five or more candies in an L shape in order to make the wrapped candies you need.
