The ingredients can only be collected above the blockers; anything underneath them will remain in place. If you can't clear them yourself, you can use a fish to do the work for you. However, the fish are only available in a limited number of colors, so make sure to collect as many as you can.

AIMatches at the bottom create cascades that can set up combos above. Always scan the bottom third of the board first.
