Start from the center
It's usually easiest to find a 1st match near the center of the board (on the sides). This helps break up blockers and give you chances to make more matches afterward.

Use wrapped candies to remove blockers fast
Once you free some of the blockers, you may get the chance to make a wrapped candy or striped candy. These will help you drop that ingredient fast, which is just what you need in an 11-move board.

Reset board until you have good moves
If you are unable to find any good starting moves, you can always reset your board. This is my favorite cheat when I have a low number of moves and a difficult board. Simply exit the level BEFORE YOU MAKE A MOVE. Then re-select the level and you will get a brand new board with brand new moves!
