This will help get the jellies out from under the licorice and give you the chance to clear them. Once the jellies are in view, try to use striped candies to take out rows/columns at a time.

Start on the Top Half of the Board The strategy right out of the gate is to pick a side either left or right. Whichever side is more favorable to matches, start attacking the top half of that side. The bottom of the board is basically worthless unless you can make a vertical striped candy to shoot up a column.

Wrapped Candies are Useful. After beginning on top, try to get a T or an L to create a wrapped candy because they can blast into the core of the obstacle. If you happen to drop a wrapped candy in there, you're in good shape because it should take out a lot of the licorice.
